In addition to the financial investment therapy is a time and relational investment. It requires you to choose YOU each week. What I know in the 21 years of being in practice is that parents will move mountains to get what their kids need. Business/work leaders will put in extra hours to support their team or crush an upcoming goal.
Therapy is different than a prescription of an antibiotic with a designated time. It requires you to show up in session to explore what is holding you back from the life you dream about. It takes you inviting me in your life space where we will uncover, explore, restore, and build what you so desperately sense you need. You and I working together. All the other areas in your life that mean so much to you can improve as you take this time for yourself.
ill get you to start our work together.

Each insurance company has different plans and benefits. To learn yours, you would contact member services on the back of your insurance card. I encourage all patients to investigate their insurance plans and inquire so there are no financial surprises once we start working together.
The office is currently only in-network with Aetna and Web-tpa. Many patients I see have other insurance carriers and utilize out of network benefits to access their benefits while we work together. To learn if and what your out-of-network benefit are you phone member services. In these cases, patients pay my fee upfront and then you will be provided a superbill if needed to be reimbursed for part of your treatment.
What is a superbill: A superbill is a document that will detail your expenses as they related to your sessions including costs paid, services rendered, and your diagnosis. While it is required for you to pay the cost of therapy upfront, a superbill will be provided following each session via your client portal. If you decided to utilize this superbill to be reimbursed by your insurance carrier, it is important to note that they will be permitted access to your patient records.
Should you have additional questions, do not hesitate to reach out to the office at 239-848-2022. If I am in session, kindly leave a voicemail. Sessions can also be scheduled by clicking on, “book it” throughout this website. Once you click this button available session will be displayed for you to pick one that meets your scheduling needs.
After your initial session is scheduled, you will receive an email containing a link to the Electronic Health Record System that the office uses called Simple Practice. Here you will find the paperwork needing to be completed before the initial session is found. This email will read, “Helene Shute has invited you to….” Once you review the portal, should you have any questions please reach out.
Upon creating your initial profile in the Electronic Health Record System, you will be prompted to upload a credit or debit (or HSA card if applicable) to keep on file. The card will be charged the day of your appointment but may not show on your account until the following day. If you ever need to change your card that simply can be done through the portal.
This is such an important question without a “one size fits all” answer. Here is where the relational and time investment plays a part.
Often after the third session (typically) I will offer suggestions on treatment areas and together we will decide what goals to dive into. Throughout the process we will discuss and share together your progress as well as any continued challenged areas. For many, it is having these open conversations that start building strength and confidence to have equally important conversations outside the therapy space.
Relationships take time to build. Past clients would report experiencing positive changes when they committed to consistent sessions. Therapy is a gift of time you choose to either take back, create, or work through something in your life.
Currently I do have a business Facebook page that you are invited to follow and share with others. Future goal is a business Instagram page!
I do not interact online with clients on this page as social media is not secure and doing so could compromise the integrity and privacy of our therapeutic relationship. Ways to reach out to me is by phoning the office at 239-848-2022 or filling out the contact form at the top of this page.
We will be mutually “interviewing” each other during the session. Towards the end of our time, we will have an honest conversation if we may be “a good fit” to work together and if so, I will encourage scheduling several sessions to continue your process of healing (or growth) starting with taking time to do so.
If I know I am not a good fit, I will share that with you and offer appropriate referrals. It takes tremendous courage and vulnerability to participate in therapy. Having a better quality of life has great meaning. If my skills are not best to collaborate with you, I will not stand in the way of that process but will step out of the way and help you find someone who can.
These sessions can be booked by either phoning the office at 239-849-2022 or you can click “book it” on this site. You will choose “couples’ session.” Thereafter you will be contacted so that your partners name and email address can be obtained, or you can include it in the notes section of the booking. Both parties will receive an email with a portal to be completed before our initial session.
